Our Adoption Process & Available Kittens & Cats
We screen potential adopters to ensure we find loving homes for our kittens. Our process allows
us to get to know you and to help you in selecting the kitten that best fits your lifestyle. To ensure that we dedicate our time and effort to the families that truly want a Maine Coon kitten we may ask you to complete our application/questionnaire*.
*Modifications to any part or portion of the adoption process may be made at any time, without notice, as determined by the breeder for the health and wellbeing of our cats and kittens; or to comply with local, state, and federal guidelines and/or restrictions.
We believe that the best way to get to know one another is to chat over the phone. We must know that the lines of communication between us and you will remain open throughout the life of your Maine Coon. Feel free to email, text, or message us first, but please be aware that we will eventually require a phone conversation.
As of May 1, 2024 we no longer maintain a waitlist. The exception to our waitlist policy will be for those that are currently on our waitlist, those in need of an Emotional Support Animal (ESA), and our previous adopters. See our ESA page for more information about our ESA program.
Kitten Availability & Selection
We may announce the arrival of a litter on this site, Facebook, and Instagram. Selections may open when our kittens are between seven (7) to ten (10) weeks old; however, we will delay adoptions if we need to assess the kittens for ESA candidates or to evaluate potential show cats. When kittens are available for selection, the kittens will be posted on this site first, then Facebook and/or Instagram.
Deposit & Payment
Upon selection a non-refundable deposit of $650 is required and will be applied toward the total cost of the kitten. The deposit and remaining balance will be documented on your adoption contract. The remaining balance is due in cash at the time of pick up.
Cattery Visitation
We are a closed cattery, meaning that we do not allow visitors. Since our cattery is also our home this is the best way for us to ensure we keep our family (human and furry) healthy and safe. However, we may be able to meet you in a public, outdoor location, or on a video chat.
"Release" Day
Your Maine Coon kitten may be released to you when it is 14 weeks old. You may pick up your kitten at a predetermined location near the cattery in which the litter is located (e.g., N. Las Vegas litters are picked up in N. Las Vegas), unless otherwise agreed upon. We will contact you to coordinate the date, time, and location.
Your kitten will receive age-appropriate vaccines and deworming, be microchip, and will be spayed or neutered prior to leaving us. Also, your kitten will have a kitten care package that includes your contract, one month of Trupanion pet insurance, registration documents, some food, and a pet carrier. If circumstances prevent us from completing the spay or neuter, the kitten will be released under a spay/neuter contract, which is monitored and enforced by SpaySecure Pet Services LLC. In such cases the CFA and/or TICA registration form will be provided after proof of spay/neuter is received.
Payment Methods
Deposits may be made using cash, Zelle, and credit/debit (3.5% fee for all credit and debit payments will be added). Remaining balances can be made by cash at the time of pick up. We do not accept checks, PayPal, CashApp, or similar servicees. Feel free to contact us if you have questions about our payment policy and methods. Exceptions to this policy is made on a case-by-case basis.
Shipping
Although we prefer that you pick up your kitten in person, we understand that might not be feasible. Shipping is offered on a case-by-case basis. We do not ship our cats or kittens as cargo, but we will allow shipment utilizing a flight nanny (Courier). You may select a flight nanny of your choosing or utilize our preferred and trusted flight nanny. The cost of shipping is not included in the price of a kitten and is your responsibility. Contact us for more information.
